POSTDOCS - NEWS & PODCASTS
The Connected Experiences (Cx) Lab at Cornell Tech (Cornell University’s new campus in New York City) is hiring a postdoctoral researcher to work on projects that apply machine learning, natural language processing and other advanced computation and analysis techniques to novel topics in online content. You will be working with Mor Naaman and Deborah Estrin as well as other faculty in the Cx Lab and our collaborators at Verizon and Yahoo.
Specifically, potential projects will focus on one of the following two areas that represent active collaborations between the Cx lab and the Yahoo Research team:
-
Podcast understanding, with potential projects involving recommendations, retrieval, classification and modeling of podcast content.
-
Quality of information from social media and news, with potential projects involving tracking and analyzing misinformation and its effect, exposure to extreme or biased content, and trust and credibility of online content.
The collaborative nature of the projects will allow you to interact with both Cornell Tech faculty and Yahoo Research staff, and ideally lead to both conceptual and fundamental contributions as well as practical product-driven innovation. Ambitious projects could lead to use of data or collaborations around potential products with our Yahoo partners.
Start date: Flexible, but as soon as possible
